Learn how to make your own solar water heater with spare parts from the kabbadiwalla. It may well cost more than the claimed amount but it will teach you how simple the technology really is. Of course, if you want to store the water, you’ll have to make, or invest in, an insulated tank.

the parts can be made in about 1000 indian ruupees if junk parts like refrigerator back and old geyser/bathroom water heater is used. the water heater actually keeps water hot for 4 -5 hours. the water heater also has a safety valve for pressure release. the single bucket siphon also works though with some difficulty. gets water really scalding on summer days. it only requires 2 hours of good sunlight to do 15 litres of water. a little more expenditure and we can make it sun facing using wooden props. my mail id agradut@gmail.com commments are welcome
